About

Mateus Sartori is a collaborative architect interested on multidisciplinary design projects and research-based work:

  • architecture design projects

  • digital fabrication research on complex geometries

  • 3D printing expertise

  • fashion and artistic collaborations

He is a Brazilian architect currently based in Barcelona.

Since receiving an MA in Parametric Design in Architecture at the UPC he has been collecting experiences that allow him to explore the possibilities that digital tools and generative creative processes offer to design, as well as to understand the importance of architecture from a transversal and sustainable point of view. He considers himself an adaptable designer, who during the creation process, takes under consideration the local context and history.

His professional experience varies from the urban planning realm (METROPLAN) to large-scale complex architecture projects (Exteral Reference), from research-based works (FabLab IAAC) to fashion and artistic collaboration (Radiorator, WearArch, Métier…)

Currently, he is part of Estudi Biga and teaches in IAAC/MAEEB and in PUC-Minas.

Parallelly, he works as an object and accessories designer and is part of Body Scripting, a collective dedicated to research on the human body and computationally designed wearables.
